Jil Guyon is an award-winning visual artist whose work spans digital media, drawing, video, and performance. Her practice, marked by psychological intensity and gestural poetics, has been hailed as “new, dramatic, beautifully executed” by Ms. Magazine.
Guyon’s works have been presented at major cultural venues including Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, Queens Museum, Museum of the Moving Image, and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Her video performance, Widow, curated by filmmaker Guy Maddin for the Toronto Urban Film Festival, reached over two million daily viewers via the city’s public transit system.
Guyon has collaborated with groundbreaking artists such as Joan Jonas, Noémie Lafrance, Helga Davis and Amanda Palmer. Her cinematic work has garnered multiple experimental film awards and a nomination for Canada’s Lumiere Prize. She is also a recipient of the Tarkovski Grant.

Previously Curatorial Associate at Neue Galerie New York, Guyon contributed scholarly work to the Egon Schiele: Catalogue Raisonné, designing and authoring the Schiele and Contemporary Culture section. Guyon holds an MFA in painting and art history from Hunter College, where she studied under Rosalind Krauss and Robert Morris.
